What is this on my Mandarin?

Anybody have any ideas. I noticed this on my mandarin. He seems to be eating and acting fine but whatever this is it’s protruding from his gill. It’s soft because as he swims I see it move. Any ideas.

Bump. Is it possible this could be a small pebble stuck on his gill. He seems so be doing fine and is eating from his dish an picks at all the live rock. I’m hoping if it is a rock it will eventfully pop out. He doesn’t seem to be in any discomfort.
