What is this on my nassarius snail?

I'm feeding some Reef frenzy to my chocolate chip starfish and of course the cuc rose from the sand bed and I noticed this on one of my little guys. By chance does anybody know what it is?

I would take the snail out of the tank to scape the aiptasia off

I would maybe wipe off the shell with a paper towel to make sure there isn't any left over aiptasia on there then yes of course put the snail back in. We just had the same thing happen to one of our snails.

Does the aptasia hurt the snail? I have a few snails and hermit crabs with small pest anemones growing on them and I have never thought to do anything about it.

Pest anemones can sting corals, and the snail is just slowly spreading the pest around the tank.

Aptasia is a pest anemone that kills corals and can easily overrun any tank unfortunate enough to receive it. I would get rid of them immediately.

Hmm... Maybe that is contributing to the aptasia in my tank. Next time I see it ill make sure to give it a good scrape!

If you scrape it off in the tank you could easily miss some which will just help spread the pest if you can take it out clean it off really well is a better option or Alaska rx is safe and easy to use
