What is this on my rocks and sand?

I randomly get these outbreaks of this color on the sand and rocks and glass a little. What is this?

looks like diatoms to me. how long has your tank been up and running?

Completely normal, your tank looks pretty new, you are going to see many different stages of algae coming and going.
