What is this on my Royal Gramma?

Hello All,

Not sure what this is on my Royal Gramma, it almost looks like he just rubbed against the rocks to hard but not sure. Any ideas?

It looks like salt water ich to me. Need to start treatment

Doesn't look like ich at all. It very well could be an injury. Fish generally heal quickly in just a few days. Or it looks like maybe it's Lymphocytis; which requires quality water conditions to heal on its own. I would wait it out a couple days and see. Concentrate on good water quality.

yeah, that doesn't look like ich to me at all either.

I'm with Mike, looks like it's probably an injury. RG's are cave-dwellers and like to jam themselves in little holes, it's not uncommon for them to get a little banged up in the process.

I am voting not ich as well. Looks like an injury more than anything. Sometimes my fish get too close to certain LPS corals and get stung. It looks like that usually. Could also be another fish beating up on him

My gramma has a mark like that, except that it's pretty nearly healed up.

Sometimes they scrape off scales by accident when they dive into the rockwork. Mine used to do that whenever I'd go past the tank. She's starting to relax a little now, though.

Soak some food in Selcon and target feed him with that for a couple of days. It will help him.
