For the life of me I can't figure out what this is growing on my sand bed. If any one had any idea please let me know. I hope this is not Aptesia. It looks like it has tentacles. It's root is buried under the sand. I could easily get rid of it. But I'd like to know what this is, and where it came from. Very odd for this to show up. This is the only one I can see. I hope there are not any more in the tank.

Nooooooooooo. I haven't added anything in a month or so. Can't figure out where it came from.

Might of been lurking behind a rock than moved

Can you get Aptesia from snails? That's the last thing I added about a month ago.

Aptaisa is very hard not to get, unless you dip everything and let it sit in quarantine for a little so you can see things popping up on your live rock. Personally I just say screw it and got a file fish and peppermint shrimp. They seem to keep it down to a minimum.

This is the only one I saw. Can't see any more. Got rid of it along with about handful of sand it was sitting on.

Best decision you could have made!

They can hitchhike in on snails. I scrub all snails shells with a stiff toothbrush and rinse a few times. I started doing this after getting pyramid snails
