Something looks to be hitchhiking on the tail of my cerith. What is it and should I be worried?

May be a sack of eggs or debris with secretion

Here are a few more angles. He hides during the day and it's hard to get good pictures.

That.... doesn't seem like a bad thing then, does it?
Tunicates aren't bad unless they start to spread aggressively, and then they should be relatively easy to remove/contain - so, yeah, if they're tunicates, they should be harmless (just keep an eye out for any invasive spreading).

I aquiesce to @ISpeakForTheSeas for these IDs but to me it sort of looks like a... Oyster...? At least this specific part does... Screenshot_20240515_101521_Chrome.png
I see what you're saying there - an easy way to tell if it might be an oyster or not for you, OP, is to feel it and see if it feels hard/solid or soft/squishy.

I need to find the guy again for that . He tends to disappear for a few days at a time.

Better pictures!

It's definitely hard like a shell. Is this a clam or oyster??

Not going to lie, the new pics are much clearer than I was expecting - well done! That's definitely an oyster.
My wife's phone camera has a macro lens and is obviously much better than mine.

I assume this isn't something to worry about then.

Thanks!
