What is this on my zoas?

Any info on what's going on here? I'm not familiar with whatever is on the zoas circled in yellow.

its a sponge. I have it on mine too and it bugs them. I just pick it off when I find it. you can either pick it off in the aquarium or toss it.

There are multiple ones intertwined throughout most of my zoa colonies. Would be difficult to remove manually

I have 50+ frags that I manually remove them from lol you dont have to tell me about time consuming haha
other than manual removal, I dont know what you could do to get rid of them. I just know that my palys dont like them

I am actually thinking about adding live gulf rock just to get some action going.
Everything can be killed, just have to find "what" works against it without wiping out the tank.

Ok, this is a live rock piece I drilled holes into about a year ago and put 6 frags onto. Now fully encrusted. I was hoping it wasn't predatory but this seems almost as bad

I would gladly ship some to you if it would survive. I'm in SW Fla. I did cycle my tank last year with live reef rock from the gulf. Awesome life forms. The only problem was the hitch hikers- i.e.: crabs,Mantis shrimp,bristleworms

I pulled them off a few plugs manually today but there are too many. I'd have to kill the zoas to remove most of them. I did a double dip of coral rx and bayer on some plugs to see if it has any effect. Will see what it looks like tomorrow. If anyone else has encountered them I'd love your input.

I love the creepy critters. It's what really brought me to the hobby. Finding something interesting and doing the research to keep it alive was the best part.
