What is this parasite?

I found this after dipping my new hammer frag from a local pet shop. Any ideas what this is? Please see attached photo.

Both harmless detritus and algae grazers respectively which also multiply in captivity.

Thank you! This was my first coral purchase and used Bayer and then a fresh RO/DI to dip my hammer coral. Really glad I did it even though these hitchhikers are not harmful

If you used live rock, you will probably see a lot more amphipods. They will also frequently come with corals.

Good to know. I set up my aqua scape with cured Marco rock, so this is the first time I’ve come across an Amphipod. I was leary about introducing live rock and introducing something that may foul up my reef tank.
