That. If you do the legwork you'll get rewarded. If they can't offer you the merchandise you ordered they have to give you "a reasonable replacement" at the offered price. Virtually every single state has bait and switch laws.Ahhh. No no no no no no.
You email them you are contacting where THEIR u.s. corporate offices are:
1) the Better Business Bureau
2) the Chamber of Commerce
3) the Attorney General of their State
to file a CONSUMER COMPLAINT that in your mind they were offering an Online Sale and they illegally revoked it.
When you checked out that was, by Law, a BINDING SALES AGREEMENT
If you play hardball, you'll get the light at your CHECKED OUT CARTED price.
You gotta do the work....
That said fortunately there are protections for businesses who make honest mistakes. The bait and switch laws are for patterns of ongoing intentional deceptive behavior.@BoomCorals, an honest mistake was made and the seller should honor the sale they made. If they can't honor the sale they made they should have in good faith contacted the buyer and offered some sort of recompense. Not just cancelling the sale and refunding the purchase price, that's bad business and poor customer service. The seller should have proofed that add before it was posted, if they have a firm doing it for them (as most people do) you sell the buyer the light at the advertised price and you backcharge the company that proofs your adds.No offense but this is one reason why running a retail business is so difficult. If an honest mistake is made, a bunch of people want you to take a massive loss. That said fortunately there are protections for businesses who make honest mistakes.
