Welcome to R2R. Unfortunately that is an aiptasia anemone. Pest. Remove it by taking the coral out, scraping it off and putting super glue over where it was to prevent it growing back.

OH DERN don’t want that

And DO NOT try to scrape them off in the tank. Every microscopic piece will become a new one. If you can’t remove the thing it’s on to kill it outside your tank use Aptasia X or similar. Pickling Lime paste works well too. Some people use a Kalkwasser paste as well.

When I got into the hobby 3 hrs ago, I remember I had live rock all set up and was so excited to see a little plant start growing. I watched it every day. Loved that little guy. Was devastated to learn it was an Aptasia and was advised to kill it. I use Aptasia X. Works like a charm. Didn't have the heart to off the little guy. Had my husband do it. Lost sleep over it too. Now, I have a coral qt and found 1. Killed it. Have since had a dozen or so in the qt. I hate killing them but I'll tell you this: they will multiply. Fast. They will irritate corals. They will need to be removed. It's easier to kill 1 than 50. I can tell you this too: you have more. Look for them. Look carefully. Kill them all. Do it now.

I though they mainly attacked zoas
So another question, that coral has been grumpy since I got him and just couldn't make it happy. Could that be the reason or is it just being fussy? Seriously that's how it has been acting and all my others are thriving.

Lol. I’m sure you mean 3 years ago.

There are some things you’ll find in your tank that will give you a sinking feeling in your stomach once you know what they are. But you did the right thing. Come on here and ask.

I have never experienced aptasia but by the posts here y’all are making me paranoid I don’t think I want to experience it

Aiptasia and a struggling frogspawn.
Ya! he has been struggling I thought it was a s#! $ because it never thrived no matter what I did. Now I feel bad, any suggestions to make it up to the fella?..... Lol
