I've tried ChemiClean and a 2wk H2O2 treatment. I've siphoned it out and within 3-4 days it's right back.
No Snail deaths, my Nassarius and Conch are well. Fish eating well.
As you can see from video taken under Radion whites only there are no air bubbles, it doesn't get real stringy either. Mainly affects the SB.
I'm in the process of removing the SB in hopes of riding my tank of it. But too I fear that any new substrate later added would develop the same issues. Therefore I'd love to cure this malady.

Were are you parameters at?

Silicates in all water sources and tank read 0. Via Salifert. Nothing new added since March, A Clam and several corals.
No additives nor medications used in over a year, aside from the ChemiClean couple months back and dosing H2O2. I'm not big on the use of additives, Coral food or the like.

I do feed Reef Frenzy. Is it possible that the probiotics added to this food is causing it?

Unless something is decaying somewhere and you can't see it, I'm totally stumped. I've had that issue and threw some GFO in and it diminished. What type of sand do you have?

Started the tank with CaribSea Arga-Alive Fiji Pink. For the first 1 1/2yrs it was plagued with what was assumed to be Diatoms. Ones that never went away. For the past 6 months it's turned into this slimy brown stuff. Positivity nothing has died and decayed. 100% positive it's the SB itself. Good thing is it's had zero negative effect on my livestock or corals, just ugly as can be [emoji2]
A reefer friend informed me tonight he's sent me a bottle of Vibrant. I'll give it a shot.

I'll bet real money it's the Fiji pink. I've read four threads about algae issues and the common denominator is the sand.

I ended up using the oolite instead of the pink and haven't had too many issues.
