Tank is currently in hyposalinity to deal with ich. There is a picture attached. The stuff is in my refugium. My refugium is separate from my sump. I send return water into the refugium then drains back to return to display. I had some algae in there before hypo but removed most of what was there before it died. When trying to clean it it just desinegrares. It looks like a flowing head of hair.

Looks like some hair algae. Remove the grid it's growing on? Drop nutrients.

Hyposalinity to rid ich? I've herd of the theory, haven't tested it. IME, ich comes from distressed fish with compromised immune system, low slime coat. If you feed high quality diet often, plenty of real estate, good water quality, no antagonist, and plenty of water flow, ich will loose the battle pretty quick.

Just some advise from the other side of the fence. Good luck and hope you prevail through the ich period. It's nasty stuff!
