What is this stuff??

Anyone have any idea what these tentacle looking things are on the sponge filter? The tank was recently a coral/invert QT setup. 2 weeks ago I pulled out the frag rack and added 4 fish to observe..

There's some "normal" algae on there, but if you look close at that lower section you can see the kind of white/translucent "tentacle" type things on there.
