Hello can anyone identify the black object in the video? When fully extended it release a little feathers. Is it a feather duster? Yes I know there’s algae I am working on it. Thanks!

If it’s the snail are they bad?
They can irritate some corals but for the most part they aren't too bad. I would still get rid of it though because eventually you may find it's shell with a finger and they can be quite sharp if you catch it the right way. You can pop it off with a pair of tweezers and then seal up the remainder with a dob of super glue to keep the snail from coming back.
