Yes been managing ich for 8 months now with same fish, rock, everything in 3 systems don’t know how ich turned into velvet? All 3 systems are full. Other systems are healthy for at least 6 months same thing nothing added. Had to dose CP in DT today . How does ich turn into velvet???? Thanks

Brook? Ok again how did it come from ich? Anyway thanks. Could CP work by itself I don’t know if I could catch and dip everyone? Also does copper treat it ? I have a broom tail wrasse in copper in QT. Never ends!!! Thanks for your help

Ok sorry but I have no experience with brook . Which I guess is a good thing LOL. Do the fish scratch and swim towards power heads like they do with velvet?

They can. If you’re treating with Chloroquine that covers ich, velvet, brook & uronema. Or copper + metronidazole duplicates the same treatment coverage.

Ok thanks but I don’t understand how can they have brook? I have not added a rock or anything in the last months and my other 2 systems are healthy for the last 6 months . I have not added anything to them except cuttlefish. I have been fighting ich in this tank for the last 7-8 months with the same fish except the personifer angel which just died. He was the one who kept getting reinfected with ich. Just trying to figure this out? Thanks for your help. Ton

Brook is one of those diseases which can be latent in an aquarium. It's unusual for a non clownfish to show symptoms in the first place, but it does happen. I've also seen cases where symptoms of brook flare up, disappear, flare up, etc. etc. over a period of months or even years. Because it is mostly a species specific disease (clownfish), Brooklynella hostilis has not been well-studied.

Ok wonderful, sounds like this could be a case study . CP is keeping them alive but trigger is covered can I try a different approach if things don’t change ? Again thanks for your help . Tom

Hi is 60mg per gallon a good dosage for Brook? Its been 2 days and tang is looking worse and Trigger is not eating well. Thanks

Ok thanks should i bump it up a little or give it more time?

I'd go with 60mg/gal... I don't normally see appetite suppression with CP until the concentration reaches 80mg/gal.

I just caught that you're treating dt. Do you know ~ how much sand and rock are in there? If I remember correctly, I've never treated with CP, the sand and rock can absorb it
