what is this white stuff floating around?

I tried to get a photo of the stuff floating around in my tank, but it didn't come out very clear. I was able to take one of the largest specimens out though. What is this stuff floating around?

That's some kind of dirty glass you've got there

I can't see anything, but usually it is just suspended detritus or sand particles. Is this a new tank?

Impossible to tell through the dirty glass. Could be a bacterial bloom. Can you tell us how long it’s been running and what stock you have? Have you checked your water parameters?
