Hi,
I have just noticed this white filamentous stuff growing on my aragonite substrate and aragonite base rock.
What is it, and what should I do about it?

This is a brand new tank. It is 3 weeks in to it's 1st nitrogen cycle. Ammonia was high but is coming down (slowly!). Currently at about 2 on the Seachem test strip.
Nitrite is low, Nitrate is 0.
pH = 8.2, water temp about 26C (78.8F).

No fish in the tank.

Oh, and the plant in the background is fake, as is the moss on the decoration and the big grey rock at the back right.... it's a family decorating job and my kids really wanted those things :)

After many hours looking around, I think it is a bacterial bloom. Hopefully it will just go away on its own.

Seems to be the same as this person had.

I took some out manually this evening. Seems slimy. Also noticed that the white aragonite substrate is looking slightly yellow all over. I'm assuming this is also attributable to the bacteria?
