What is this white stuff?

So there is this stuff that grows in the spots where there is low light in my tank for some reason and it’s really weird. It looks like algae but it looks like it’s forming some type of polyp too, it feels fibrous and fleshy it’s honestly disgusting and I already scraped a ton of it off the sides of my glass. Check the pics.

I wish I asked before I scraped the mass loads of it off my glass, I seriously had this stuff completely cover both sides of my glass and it just kept growing.

Next time you want to scrape it, for aesthetic purposes, collect in a fish next and put in your over flow or sump, it makes for natural filtration, but can go bananas when happy, chalk it up as a sign of maturation.
