What is this?

Good morning! When I started this tank, I got 60 pounds of love rock from an established tank as well as cheato. The rocks and cheato already had established pods, which I thought was great. The rocks also came with aiptasia. Even though I asked the guy if he had aiptasia and he said no. I'll tackle that problem with nudist. But this morning I noticed these growing on the rocks. Can anyone identify?

Kind of tough to tell frome the picture. Looks like it could be aptasia, but it also looks like it could be a small feather duster (harmless filter feeder).

It's not aptasia. I know what that is, unfortunately.Heres another pic and I'll post a video.

Really? There's a group of them though. Four visible. Would there be multiple feather dusters like that? I had a feather duster in the past. Really like them.

Found a previous post on feather dusters. Looks like what that person had. But I have 4 in a small space. Do feather dusters grow like that?

They can. The grow wherever there're nutrients available, so having four of them in a group isn't unusual.

I Agree they are baby feather dusters. I brought one in on a zoa frag 8 months ago and now I have ones just like, all around the tank.

Feather dusters for the most part have a calcified tube . And if something goes by they “suck” into the tube very fast

They did retract when I turned on the white light.

In my dt I have a few with hard calcified tubes .

In my sump , they are completely different and have a brown much tube with fuzz like polyps .
