What is this?

So I'll put this in the n00b column.. What's going on here?

I'm talking about this white slimy stuff, it clogged my return pump a bit and it's in the bottom of my sump. Obviously this is no overnight problem it's been going on for a while. The tank has been up and running for about a year now.

I had something like that in my tank and it was not enough water movement.

Detritus....need to clean it out....at least that's what it looks like from the photo...just siphon it out during your next wc
