Is that a sun coral the pictureis very hard to see and if so they only open up when they feed to my knowledge

No, that is not what I think it was called...
It is "supposed" to like low light, low flow and be a big feeder. When out is supposed to be this great wiggly orange head. The picture I saw when I bought this online was neat-
I have moved it all over the tank and only gotten a small dome to poke out of the top, not tentacles...
I looked at reviews ( unfortunately afterwards) and other people who bought this coral from this dealer are having the same problems...
Don't know if I can fix him, or give up....

These guys need to eat! they are non-photosynthetic. They do not have zooxanthellae. I would if you can, get a small bottle to place over the top, put food in there to stimulate the coral to feed. Then add larger meatier food to it. Not over feed, but get them eating.

Bottle: cut to fit a water bottle or small bottle leaving the top off to put food through. Make sense?

These guys also may be more apt to eat with lights out. Just a suggestion.

You only want the bottle on him for short time to stimulate feeding. Then remove and do this again each night until it learns when to eat. Then, the hope is, you can just feed it by target feeding in the evening at the same times as you do with the bottle and it will come out and eat.

Flow is not a huge issue with these guys unless except when they eat.

They do need to be trained to stay open. Be patient and it should open up.
