I need help identifying this. Its growing in a new tank about 2 months old. I've never seen it before

It's bryopsis. Slowly raising your mag up to 1400-1600 has helped people before. Also some swear by using Kent marine tech - m to to do it (for some unknown additives that also help in addition to increasing mag). Don't do anything drastic unless it's spreading.
 
Pluck it out asap though. This stuff spreads fast if not kept in check. I can wipe out corals. I deal with it regularly after I introduced it accidentally. I tried so much to get rid of it, but I think my UAS (upflow algae scrubber) has done the most to keep it at bay. I also drip peroxide on areas if needed too.

If it wasn't such a pest, it would be quite pretty. :)

Oh, nothing I found eats it. Tangs, seaslugs, emeralds, nothing I have tried anyway.
