Does anyone know what this is? Is it safe to keep or should i remove it? It came attached my rock and has been at the same spot ever since... around 3 weeks now. It seems to have a stem that goes deep into the rock.

Looks like an anthelia to me.
I would say that is a good guess based on the size of the sample. Anthelia is really one of the only corals I consider a weed, once it becomes established in a tank it may take over and it's hard to remove.
