That started out as a 2 inch frag that was actually brown apirl 22 2016 and it's prolly more then doubled in size in 5 months. I'm almost wondering if it's a tierra de fuego now after seeing some of that it's really similar, but it's also similar to red planet

@saltyfilmfolks

What do you think of this one
holy smokes!. Is it encrusting the rock already?
And yea Im with tahoe. Im def not an expert for sure...... Nutrients and light are gonna change the colors a bit(and camera n filter)

not sure why that tag didnt work.

Yeah it has started in a couple spots already think I'll have Chris ask tyree about it in vegas lol

Red planet will get more green in lower light. If exposed to high light it will turn all red.

Here is my colony in the hay days.

Mine was at the top of the tank, so not much green really.

dang that's sexy, both my red planet and this piece sit about 6 inches from the top of the tank so I'm not sure

Id bet($.25) SUPER high flow and MH. ummmmmmm 14k.

I am pretty confident it's an RP. My frag when the piece was smaller, and when the colony grew out.

High indirect flow and intense lighting, six inches away from 150 MH.

Red planets get huge once they take off. Base becomes less green the more light you give it.

Wow, That is extremely impressive Tahoe!

from my limited experience w MH(my two 150's ) that's closer to surface levels of light.
clearly The higher flow affects the growth patterns too.
