What is this?

I detached my rainbow acan from a large zoa dome so I could attach the acan directly my rock work. I was disgusted by what I found on both the zoa dome and the acan where both were attached. The acan was doing good and shrivelled quite a bit and a couple days later I did a water change and it puffed back up but never like it once was.

How my acan was when I first got it, nice and puffy.

What it has looked like most of the time.

How it has been recently.

This is what I found on the zoa dome, horrible blood red thing.

Thoughts?

was there any epoxy/glue to attach the acan to the dome?
I see the same thing between the epoxy and the frag plug when I go to move them.

And I have some very hardy acans that I moved recently and they have been receded for a good 2 weeks. They are just now coming back around to being full. I wouldnt stress it.

I used both milliput and super glue gel, the acan is currently just over half way up the tank on rock, think I might move it to the sand bed where there's less flow as well.

Vermetids, snap off the tubes and cover in super glue gel.

Those could be fan worms. I have them too.
It could just be from the putty. I've seen it happen. Although I can pop off the putty when that happens. I think it's fine. You could scrape it off?

But what is that freaky red stuff in the center? Yeah the vermentids are pests, but what is that gory red gunk?
