What is this?

Hi - I have this translucent material that pops up from a few places in the rock. It is attached to the rock than flows out in an enclosed teardrop shape anywhere from an inch to two inches moving with the current. It appears to me like something to catch food in the water. I cant tell what it is coming from as the handful of times I have seen them the attachment point was out of view.

Any help identifying it will be appreciated.

Wow that is weird. Google images of Polyclad Flatworm and see if that is a match. I need an image at different angle.

Sorry but that was all I was able to do. I have not figured out how to filter out the blues when I take pics. They come and go every few weeks in different spots on the tank. I have also seen a few that were rectangular shaped, one attached and the other must have come loose as it was floating around the tank. I have a video that shows it moving around with the current. Is there a way to upload video?

Off to work and I have not loaded a video since the update, try experimenting with the header options right about each post. I will check this thread when I get home.
Do you find empty snail shells?

Reach your hand back to that spot and see if you can feel a hard tube or something spiky. That looks like a vermetid web.

After googling vermetid web I agree they look very similar. Only difference I notice is the times I see them they are always loose and floating. I felt around the area it seemed attached but nothing rough. I have even seen a few that literally were square shaped bubbles that broke loose and were floating around the tank. Could this still be the snail?
