Just saw this grew recently on one of the sides of my corals. Not sure if it is aptasia or not.. any ideas? Sorry for the bad picture quality..

Bummer! Thanks everyone. Will a dip in coral rx do the job? Or do I pluck him off?

The dip will not kill it. If you pluck it off in the tank your run the risk of it releasing spores that will seed other parts of the tank. If you are unable to remove the frag you can try injecting the aptasia with boiling water. You can also try aptasia X. If you take the frag out and pluck it you run the risk of leaving a piece of the stalk which will eventually grow back. I have had the best luck with the superglue

The frag is easily accessible. Just didn't know if I could pluck it. Thanks

Other choice to inject.......and if you can, out of the tank.....lemon/lime juice, talk solution.

i've found when you remove the frag from the tank, the aiptasia closes up, sometimes into whatever hole it's sitting on top of and nearly impossible to just pluck out. you're better off injecting with lemon juice, covering with super glue and all the other good stuff mentioned. plucking it only breaks it into smaller pieces and multiplying.

What type of concoction of lime and lemon juice are we talking? Also how exactly would I inject it?

I use a syringe......not necessarily with a needle....and I use the lemon or lime juice that comes in the green bottle....although I've seen the lemon juice in yellow plastic bottles that look like a lemon.

Will it be harmful in anyway to just fill up a little syringe I use to measure the ingredients for my sailfert test kits and then aim it towards the aptasia? Just concerned about surrounding corals and just the water quality itself
