What is this

My tanks is just over a month old and I have never seen this on that rock before, not sure what it is. Does anyone have an idea of what it is.

First thought is-is it hard or soft?
Hard, maybe a skeleton of a coral that you haven't noticed before.
Soft, possibly a sponge.
Either way i don't think there's an issue. It looks pretty well dead.

It's hard so it's prolly been there, but I never noticed it
