Is iT growing on that rock , looks like a sponge , but if also looks like its coming out of the sand .. i say sponge

Does it sway with the current? It looks kind of like an egg mass IMO. What kind of fish/invertebrates do you have in your tank?

Awesome, thought so since it didn't have long tentacles like aiptasia but wanted be sure cuz it lacks any color except some black speckles

slide a fingernail up next to the polyp. if its hard, its not a zoa. tough to tell IMO from the pic.

Some zoas can have bland colors like that. Try moving it towards more light, May change colors on you. Mine changed colors after putting them in my tank

True. If you touch it it should deflate and curl up. If it doesn't it probably isn't a zoa

If its not is just something cooler...

The egg mass looks like spat of a Turbo snail. Turbo snails are good algae eaters. Most of the Turbo snails may hide between the rocks during the day.
