We have a rock in our tank with a number of mushrooms on it and tonight we noticed this trumpet looking light pink something growing out from in between the mushrooms. Can anyone ID it for me please?

Yes, to the north of Dallas. McKinney. You from the dallas area?
I was thinking that since there are a lot of other green Palys around it. It doesn't have any of the usual characteristics of a paly though. It is smooth and does not have a defined center to it plus there are no little tendrils coming out around the edges..looks like a palys that shrink battling with the shroom it always happend in my crowded tank.
Nice. Mckinney is where I'm from too.Yes, to the north of Dallas. McKinney.
Thank youThey are Palythoa, likely the same ones that are in the background, they just look pretty upset.

I had been reading about this very thing! I'm so sorry you had to go through that!Be careful if you decide to remove that palythoa to save the mushroom. I've had some bad experiences with paly toxin and it is not something to mess around with. Do not remove it with your bare hand, at the least use tweezers. Once you have removed the paly's you want wash well and give the tank a couple of hours. Paly toxin is pretty unstable and breaks down fairly quickly.
