Wife was looking in tank last night and saw this.
I can not find what it is

It looks like a Bristle worm to me. But it’s hard to see on my phone. If it is then It’s beneficial to the reef to an extent. they eat leftovers, but don’t touch with your bare hands

Is it a hard tube? Or soft like a worm?

I have some tubes like that in my reef.... they are hard and have a “ridge” down the middle. Mine has a brown feather duster type worm that lives there. I always assumed they were some type of barnacle because they do not move quite like a feather duster when they go in and out.

Thanks all

It is hard and seems to be fused to the rock. Just let it go or try to break away from rock ?

I have heard of several methods like crushing them and Superglue. I use my laser to fry them, when I think they are bothering a coral.
Your rock looks fairly new so it might just be an empty shell....

I would wait and see. It does not look like a vermetid snail to me..... their tubes are round and coiled.

My dry Pukani rock had several of these from days gone by as nothing actually lived in the tubes. Wait and see if anything comes out of it.... if not I would forget about it.

Cool yes rock is fairly new I will let alone for now
