I know!! But before I commit to buy I would like to know what it is!! LOL
He says its a brain but I think it might be a scolymia?

It appears by the flesh and Coralite thickness to be one of the following:

This list is from imo most to least likely...
1. Cynarina deshayesiana
2. Scolymia cubensis
3. C. macassarensis

I'm thinking the coral's base is buried in the sand...
If the base is indeed Thick it is most likely a C. sp.
if the base is thin it would more likely be a S. sp.

In reference to the picture, note where the skeleton rounds under... and where the flesh rolls off the skeleton.

Meat coral, donut coral and Cynarina are all the same coral but thats what it is. 45.00 is a nice price for it. They are awesome to watch while they feed.

as a forum pro- giving advice on purchase price, probably is outside of our realm...

having said that $45 for a brain coral is not a price outside of the norm by more than 1 standard deviation as a whole.... so you wouldn't be getting "took"....

The best price advice I can give is:do your homework- look around- and I like to suggest buying from R2R sponsors when given the opportunity- so for sure check out our sponsors....

PS. you might even write one of our sponsors- they MAY be able to match price?.... If they are unable to then that's fine, but atleast you would have an idea....
