What is this?!?

found some weird spongy looking growth, and what looked like mini tubes on my live rock.

It sits in the middle chamber in the back of my aquarium and doesn’t really get any light. There were a lot of them.

The spongy things where all over everything.

I did my normal monthly cleaning and it all got a hot freshwater soaking and scrubbing.

Pineapple sponges and tube worms. Filter feeders and a sign of good aquarium health.

The pineapple sponges could magically dissappear on you. I had them all over everything like you and they just dissappeared on me. Part of the rise and fall of empires effect for the battle of contested leftover nutrients.
