I don't know if you can tell from the picture but it's brown, is growing in many areas of my tank, grows from one spot like the end of a pen, some of the growths are 4-6" long, it is growing on rock and substrate.

That's what I thought it was. Yes I have a few. They are getting huge. I'm gonna have to get some bigger shells.

Gotcha, yea I’d get a few more and go from there. How big is the tank and how old? Tangs love GHA too if size allows.
 
Ok so I have an interesting one. I have this thriving ivory branch hitchhiker coral that has something growing out of or attached to on of the polyps:
