I was cleaning out my tank when I noticed a little numb on my firefish. Not sure what it is what so ever. All my other livestock seem fine nothing on them.

It could be an injury or a bacterial infection.

Could you post pics without the blues on?

My guess would be an injury/scratch. Watch very closely next few days to see if there are changes in shape or size as well as sign of tissue irritation / infection around it (redness, swelling or loss of scales).

If it’s an infection how do I go about handling this without a qt tank

It’s not very easy to do that. You could try feeding antibiotic soaked foods but in general that doesn’t always work with skin injuries.
What else do you have in tank? Corals? Rock? What size tank?

Unfortunately, I wouldn’t recommend using abx in your display. You would likely end up with quite a few problems.

I've always dosed epsom salts for skin injuries when removing/catching the fish was impossible.

Def won’t be able to catch this fish. Always goes into hiding. How does one go about using epsom salt in the tank? Will it hurt my other fish, coral, and or inverts?

There’s some tentative evidence that Epsom helps with eye swelling and constipation but I haven’t heard it work on actual injuries or infections.

It’s just magnesium sulfate so won’t harm anything, you can try a spoon per 5gal. Make sure it’s non-scented, best to get UPC in a pharmacy.

What about a fresh water dip? If I can get fish out

It would only help if there’s an external parasite.

You could give it an acriflavine bath (ruby rally) or even methylene blue bath.

Humblefish recommends 1 tablespoon to five gallons.

Dissolve the epsom salt in some rodi water and then slowly pour it back into the tank. I'd test magnesium levels before and midway through to make sure you aren't raising it too high. Go slow. High magnesium used to be a way to cure bryopsis and it is reef safe with caution.
