This is the first time that I have seen these in orange. All the previous times I have seen these they have been purple, similar to the coraline color but more burgandy. The tank is about two years old and no new rock has been added during that time. I have not seen any vents or similar on these. The purple version of this, seems to start to grow from a base of burgandy colored base similar to coraline, but it is slightly slimy and can be easily scrubbed off, not like coraline that has to be scraped off. Sometimes these bubbles start to form on this base, but not always. I am on the road and my son sent me these pics but it appears that these have started off of a purple base there are just orange growths this time? Whenever I see bubbles start to form, I remove them from the tank as I am unsure if they are good or bad. I am pretty new to the live rock/reef scene so this is new to me. These bubbles don't look like any of the bubble algae that I have seen in local fish stores that appear more like shiny purple marbles.
