I cannot figure out what this is I thought it was new growth but it seems to be a different creature.
That is a closed gsp frag. It looks to be coming from the bottom for the plug.

Sorry for the terrible picture.

Aptasia. You can also buy AptasiaX to kill it.

Be careful on how you kill it with aiptasia X.
They will release spores when they are stressed and your problem will multiply.

My aiptasia x bottle is pretty much brand new. I used it only once. 1 became 3 two weeks later.

Peppermint shrimps are risky
, Burga nudis is expensive
File fish is iffy
Copper Band butterfly fish is hard to keep

Pick your poison

I've personally kept 3 peppermint shrimp, to prevent aptasia / kill it when i did have some, they do not seem to bother my coral or fish at all, although lots of people experience issues, i can't say that i've had any issues with them

Yeah peppermints are hit or miss and really depend on how hungry they are in my experience. I keep 6 just because I enjoy their little wiggly colony, but they hardly touch any aiptasia that pops up for me, and they'll occasionally take a nibble at some more appetizing softies and fleshy lps. I think it really just depends. If I starve the tank for a day or 2 they start eating aiptasia, but they start chewing on other stuff too lol

Hi, I have used Aptasia X. With a needle syringe, but you must make sure you switch you wave pumps off, just temporarily while you do it, firstly you can see where the Aptasia is and secondly you can then inject the solution in the middle of it, must be done quickly before it retreats in it self. Hope this will helps.

I used AptasiaX on the big ones then I bought a peppermint shrimp for the smaller ones. Worked like a charm.

It looks like it base is visible so you could take it out and use a razor and try to scrape underneath the aptasia's foot and remove it.
