Does anyone know what this coral is? I got it from a friend a while now as a Monti. It's thick, red base with thousands of tiny yellow dots, not polyps. Can't see any polyps on it. When I turkey baste it, the flesh behaves like a sheet. I'm not sure it's a Monti at this point as anything it touches basically just dies. Touched a brain and the thing started becoming bone in no time.

The tank it came from, under Radions, had it deep bright red and a few yellow dots. Under my Hydra 52HDs it's at the sandbed and it still looks bleached even though it's lower light.

Some say sunset Monti etc but the yellow dots aren't polyps. They dont go in and out and they are heard to the touch. I'd call them more nodules.

Anyone know what this is and how to get the color back? It's now a full pink but I have millions of yellow dots while under Radions it didn't have as much.

It hangs over the rock it outgrew. It's thick. Not sure if I'd say it scrolls but it looks like something oozing over the edge or the rock.

Color is all wrong though and so far all the chalices I've seen have mouths. This has none.

I see plenty of mouths on the red chalice. The color on the toxic pie will come back, it looks like it was in poor conditions before.
Hold on. Which photo do you mean? Mine is the pale reddish pinkish one in the photos. The bright red one is what it kind of looks like but mine has no mouths. You can't see it eat like other chalices. Nada. I thought it was a Monti but you guys saying it's a chalice? Even without mouths?
