Went to feed my tank and noticed some fish acting up. The clown looks like it’s covered in ick. The firefish not really sure what that is. Please any help really is appreciated as I’m not sure what to do or treat the tank with.

How long do you have the fish?

If it is Brook (and it certainly seems like it), you have to work under the assumption that everything in the tank is infected.

Yes. Do a fresh water dip for like 3 minutes at most and then move quickly, i recommend doing a 100% water change, you cant risk any of the parasites staying alive. Good luck.

There is more to it than that. The link Big G provided is very informative. A water change alone isn't going to resolve the issue. They need to go fallow with the tank (I think 76 days). Also, I think to treat brook, you need to use copper.

Yeah. But be careful, the less hardy fish probably wont be able to handle too much copper.

I had brook pop up last year. I did a 90 minutes bath in Ruby Reef Rally and transferred to a clean qt tank. The brook was gone after the 90 minute bath, never did see any symptoms after that.

What if you dosed the ruby reef into the tank? Isn’t it reef safe and won’t hurt corals or inverts due to not having any copper

It can lower the oxygen content of the water. I would only do this if there was absolutely no other option. It really is best to remove the fish for the bath. It's a more concentrated solution as well. Which will help fight off the brook more efficiently.
