I have a Pakistan Butterfly in QT now for 8 weeks and still shows signs of what may be a parasite. Fish have been through 30 days of copper power at 1.75, general cure, two treatments of prazi pro(second time was double strength), did a fresh water dip but only for 3 minutes as fish was going belly up. Did not see anything come off. And I still see these spots. They remain in same place but more keep coming. Fish eats well. Any ideas? 2906A441-1B87-49A1-932D-F50F6E0047F7.jpeg ED94C1CB-51F1-4F9E-BD71-292592A16519.jpeg

Doesn't look like anything to me other than maybe an off color scale from scraping on a rock maybe. If it were a parasite you would be seeing many more. And Flukes would look a bit different, and also more of them.

As a general note, the recommended copper ppm has been up'ed to 2.00ppm as velvet has been seen getting past 1.75ppm. Just FYI for future QT'ing.

They are several on both sides of the fish, it just doesn't show well in the picture. There are no rocks in the qt only a couple pcv caves

Nothing came off in a dip? Did you try in a dark bucket?

It’s not uncommon for fish to stop swimming much in a dip, as long as they breathe I wouldn’t worry about “belly up”. If a dip kills a fish, it was gone prior to the dip, unfortunately.

Yeah I used a dark bucket and I didn’t see anything in the bottom that came off. Maybe I’ll try another fw dip tomorrow and leave it in longer

I just noticed this was you, hi Amanda!

Let me know what you find. Hopefully it’s nothing serious. I know you’re pretty meticulous!
