Hope you guys can help. I’ve got a Pearlscale, Potters Angel and a yellow flanked in qt. Pearlscale and yellow flanked came in first, doing fine. Potter’s came in with ich so I started treating coppersafe amd got up to 1.75 on day 8 (nov 2nd). A few days later Pearlscale developed what seemed like a brown spot on his fin. I treated food with metro and kana (using focus) for 2 weeks. The spot got slightly better but didn’t go away. Now today I just noticed it is more pronounced and reddish. Sorry for the bad pics...can anyone help? He’s eating like a pig and he’s a great fish so I really want to treat him if I can.

Just for a little added background, when the spot first appeared it was brown and almost looked like brown jelly that you would see on your euphillias. Then, as I said, it seemed to get better to the point where it was almost gone and now today it’s huge and blood colored almost. Let me know what you guys think, thanks fam

Most antibiotics work best absorbed through the skin of the fish, especially on exterior problems. Needs a QT and dose for the full 10-14 days as antibiotics work very slowly on fish. Red sores, especially growing sores can go sideways really quickly on tangs and angels. NFG powder works wonders on these types of infections. Time is not your friend here.

He’s in qt right now. Can I treat nfg powder with coppersafe at the same time? Are there other options like general cure maybe? Thanks for your help!

Its not best practice to combine medications but technically they can be combined if you're in pinch. Many have had success in the past doing so. Please note that you need to add extra surface agitation promote proper gas exchange as it oxygen tends to deplete while administering these medications together.

Ok thank you. Do you have an opinion on which works better for external bacterial infections - general cure or a combo of furan 2/kanaplex/Metro? Or would you suggest I treat with a different combination than the two options I listed? Thanks
