Snails can hitchhike as babies just like a lot of other critters live rock or frags are both possibilities

Must have been a frag since all my rock was dry rock.

I've seen them fall out of frags I've purchased when dipping, they really like hiding under rocks/frags at day. They are nocturnal for the most part.
