Does it ever open up any more than that? I've never seen anything quite like it.

Welcome to R2R by the way!

Looks like a “sea mat” palythoa. I’ve seen something similar in the LFS in their Vietnam shipments from time to time

Sweet thanks guys! I'll look it up more.. Yes, he has about 6 holes and they get bigger/smaller...also looks like a barnacle inside the middle hole...
What happens when you poke it?

Hey, I looked up pictures of "sea mat palypythoa". Mine doesn't look like that... do you know what else it could be?

That’s a colonial zoa can’t remember the exact name, I also have it, be aware as the also contain the palytoxin.

What will the palytoxin do to me? I only have invertebrates and coral. I'm not doing fish. Will it hurt them? Thank you!

Palytoxin it’s very dangerous to humans, normally released by the coral wile fragging, definitely worth reading on it.

I found out its a long tentacle anemone but does anyone know the species?

Hey everyone,

I dont think my anemone is too happy... not sure. I got him 2 days ago. I put him on the sand between live rock with about a 3inch diameter circle on the sand. I put him in low flow. Please help! If I knew what species of long tentacle anemone he is I could look him up more. He's about the size of a fist.
