Something kept catching my eye from time to time under one of my acans but I wrote it off as me being senile. I finally got a glance during today's feeding. Please note the differences between the 2 pictures and tell me what this is.....that's about as good of a picture as I can take with my phone....

looks like a miniature feather duster....after closer inspection, I see several.....advice?

I don't want this to go unanswered, but I do think a better picture is in order for this one. The zoom makes it entirely too grainy, take a wide shot and merely crop it with a photo editor to show the area you want us to see.

thanks dude....agreed, the pictures are terrible. I took tons of pictures with my iPhone 6S+ through a pair of high intensity yellow glasses and, believe it or not, those were the best...lol

I feel like a shmuck.....just a little research and it popped up that "if it retracts back into it's tube when something gets close, it's not aptasia..." whew....it does retract so I'm writing it off as a feather duster. I just panicked when I saw it and posted a "help me" post.

sorry for the false alarm......

where did you read that. Aptasia gets spooked. Just try putting Aptaisia X in it's mouth before it closes up :)

feather worms do look like feathers whereas aptaisia looks more like tentacles. could also be a majano
