Looks like Cyano to me. I did small doses of hydrogen peroxide and it cleaned it up in my tank! Please look up how to do this first- too much peroxide can be bad for the corals. Best of luck
Yes, that looks right! I would just be cautious and monitor your corals. Like everything else in this hobby, one thing might work for one person and not work for someone else. I’ve personally had success, so I recommend it.
So for a 55 gallon tank you would do 5 1/2 ml. And does that dose strait to the tank. And do I turn pumps off and protein skimmer? I’ve never done it like this and am nervous hahaYes, that looks right! I would just be cautious and monitor your corals. What kind of corals do you have? I’d cut it slightly short and start with 4.5-5ml. Hydrogen peroxide easily breaks down into hydrogen and oxygen, which are harmless to the tank. Again, I’d just recommend you observe how the corals react. In my experience, The “worst case scenario” for hydrogen peroxide dosing is much more favorable to the “worst case scenario” of a Cyano outbreak. The only way the H2O2 will really damage your tank is if you ignore the corals and keep dosing while they’re clearly struggling. My corals were fine with it. I only had zoas, mushrooms and a chalice though. So for a 55 gallon tank you would do 5 1/2 ml. And does that dose strait to the tank. And do I turn pumps off and protein skimmer?
