What is this?

This mixed reef has been running for about 8 to 9 months.
I have these things in my sump. I don't know what they are.
I'm not a newbie and I have an idea of what they might be but wanted to bring it to the community for a broader idea of what it is.
It's only in the sump.

What are these?

That's what i thought they were. I did not want to write that I thought they were sponges because everyone would have just said what "I" said.
