hi,appears to be hair algae, check your phosphates, add some snails :)

Ok I’ll be be back lI had a tank that was overrun by hair algae a few years back and n’t look like that. That stuff looks like clear fuzz not really filamentous like I would expect hair algae to look. I had 8 snails 3 nasarius snails and 5 turbos, 2 of the turbos recently passed from some copper/brasng fr some brass fittings I accidentally used. I plan on getting several more my next trip two hour trip to the nearest city with an lfs. My phosphates are probably out of whack I had a bad batch of reef crystals with high ammonia and phostphates recently so I switched over to fritz rpm. I have a diy algae scrubber that’s been running for over three weeks now and it’s barely turning a lil brown I was hoping it would be growing turf algae by now to help with the phosphates. I also run some neocarbonit-z in a filter bag, not much at all though maybe three or four grams. My protein skimmer runs 24/7 u

Save your gas money reefcleaners.org for clean up crew. I know NM has nothing when I lived there I had to go to Lubbock Texas to get stuff pain in the butt

Tell me about it. I drive to Albuquerque from grants. I’ve been thinking about finding a good online retailer to start using but I was kinda worried it’s still too hot out here for the shipping. I just usually wait till my parents go to alb and call in what I need and have them pick it up for me lol. Which works out most the time as my grandmother has weekly Drs. Appointments there.

Highly recommend reefcleaners been using them for about 8 years. Never really had any issues with an order and John refunds DOA super fast. You would be good to use them out there
