I thought so but even as it starts growing it looks like a blob then these long stands just appear and it’s completely black

Hi, to me that second picture looks like bryopsis. Does it come of easy ? How big is your tank? What are your nitrates/phosphates?

It comes off very easy and very soft and honestly i dont know the phs or anything i used to do it at the beginning but theres nothing in the tank except this bristle worm i found today i kinda just let it do its thing

Cyano. Best way to combat this is chemiclean, as well as keeping nitrate above 0 and phosphates under control.

Im suspecting dino. Cyano will likely be dark red and matted
Dino is stringy, may or maynot have bubbles and represent in most cases strings of snot.
Loosen up with a turkey baster and siphon as much as you can. Pay attention to filters and clean them as often as daily and see how long it takes this stuff to return. If it returnsm, takes as many clear photos under white light as you can and post pics
Important that you are NOT using tap water from faucet nor drinking water in which may have minerals. Test and indicate your phosphate levels also. If no kit, have a trusted LFS test for you and see where youre at.
