Looks that way. Little to no light.

I’ve seen this in dark areas before and believe it to be bacterial but not sure. Manual removal will be your best bet. Running a UV may help. And if carbon dosing, I’d cut back.

So stopped carbon dosing a couple days ago and been running UV for the past few months.
