Bought a tank set up with livestock, coral, etc. and this was one of the corals. Wondering what it is. I know the guy said it was rrc something but I’m not sure of what or how to take care of it. Any ideas? Is it with anything? TIA A37B84F1-014E-4330-A632-68A7EA369411.jpeg

Looks like Micromussa lordhowensis AKA Micro Lord

Bro come on?

Seriously.....?

I'm not allowed to ask what the general market price is?

Wow

My apologies,

I thought you were trying to take advantage of OP, because yes it looks like OP has a dopplerganger/possibly legit HG micromussa, unlike plain jane M. lordhowensis, that clump of HG micro can be worth quite a bit of money.

Again,
My sincere apologies.

It's all good.

I actually skim read the OP and didn't catch he bought this coral as a big package deal.

I just assumed he bought it outright and wanted to know generally what he paid.

My bad

Possibly a type of Zoa colony? Feed it with reefroids or similar. It seems to doing ok whatever you are doing already.

entacmea quadricolor (bubble tip nem)

Looks like a really nice one too

Sorry but it's not a zoa it's an acan. Not trying to be mean but I just want him to have the correct info. :)

Its not an acanthastrea, its a micromussa, more than likely M. amakusensis

Cool! Thanks
Oh, yeah ig so. That's the new name for them, right?
So the guy I got the tank from with all of this stuff in it finally messaged me back and said it was some kind of Sang Lee lineage he has paperwork or something for it. So hopefully once he gets moved he will mail it. ‍♀️ They were in the process of moving to a different town for his job and he was not there when I went to get everything only his wife. So thanks for all the help!

Not all of them,
The common acanthastrea lordhowensis, was reclassified to micromussa lordhowensis, but the more rare and smaller headed micromussa amakusensis has been in the micromussa genus as long as I can remember.
Acanthastrea bowerbanki is also now technically homophyllia bowerbanki, same with hillae
Not sure on the other reclassification on the Acanthastrea genus but echinata and subechinata are still acanthastrea I believe.
